Where We Come From

Pittsburgh Girls Box was founded by Tika Hemingway — a 4x National Champion boxer, Team USA representative, and Pittsburgh native whose own story of resilience became the foundation for this organization.

Tika knows firsthand what it means to face impossible odds and find strength through faith and discipline. She built Pittsburgh Girls Box so that every woman and girl in our community could access the same transformative power of boxing.

From our home at Weightmasters Boxing Gym in Wilkinsburg, we serve women and girls of all ages and backgrounds — offering not just boxing training, but mentorship, life skills, faith-based programming, and a community that believes in them.

What We Stand For

Empowerment

We believe every woman and girl has the power to transform her life. Boxing is our vehicle — discipline, confidence, and strength are our gifts.

Community

We are stronger together. Pittsburgh Girls Box is a family — a place where women and girls lift each other up and build lasting bonds.

Faith

Faith is the cornerstone of everything we do. We believe in the potential of every person who walks through our doors.

Excellence

We hold ourselves to the highest standard — in the ring and in life. Excellence is not a destination; it is a daily practice.
